Moderation Poem by Elia Michael

Moderation

I thought I was being good
Polyunsaturated
They repeatedly said should
Be better than saturated

I thought I was being good
Monounsaturated
They repeatedly said should
Be better than saturated

So I’d have a healthy spread
Margarine not bad butter
On my slice of wholemeal bread
Now which one to have I utter?

It does not make a difference
A new study does purport
I’ll treat them with indifference
I’ll no more give them my support

I will eat just what I like
All things in moderation
Beware of a sugar spike
I'll avoid too much temptation
