Misplaced Poem by Carolyn Brunelle

Misplaced

You’ve misplaced her somehow;
she’s up and disappeared.
An entire life is missing,
along with her abilities,
all her memories;
the essence of who she was.
I miss my mom;
all that’s left now is
broken hearts around you.
You don’t know me
any more than I know
this adult/child/stranger
that’s in my care.
You’ve misplaced her,
but where?
What made you wander so far away;
why couldn’t you stay in THIS world?
