Mirror Poem by Zeke Herron

Mirror

Peer into the darkness
Try and face the amiss
Keep those eyelids open
You'll be the one seeing this

Don't pull up those covers
They can't hide the truth
Answer not those voices
Even those of a lover's tone

Stand the sounds all around
Face the haze in this maze
Stick out your tongue
Taste the poison and run
Flee from that thing
That shapeless being

Unless it's too late
And the journey has begun
If you turn the other way
It will all look the same

So pull up those covers
Answer those voices
You won't want the horror
Of who's in the mirror
