Mine Poem by Katerina Nicoletti

Mine

Rating: 4.5

What separates me from an animal
(though I do love you like an animal)
Is a need to possess your heart
(and your heart is not mine to possess)
I see you and I think, mine
(though you are not)
It ebbs like the tide this need of mine
(and it always returns)
You are not mine
(though my heart thinks you are)
