When My Mind Is Quiet Poem by Katerina Nicoletti

When My Mind Is Quiet

Rating: 5.0

My soul can hear you
At night when sleep pulls at my eyelids
I can hear you speak
A heart calling out to its twin in the cosmic sea
Beneath the heavens
Within the collective spirit
Your voice swims to me
When my mind is quiet

In your prism eyes
I see my reflection
A soul tied by
Lifetimes
Of joy
Love
And hardship
All history revealed
Within one glance
And my mind is silenced

I feel the breeze of you
On my cheek
Whether your hand or your heart
Reaches out for me
I know not
But I can feel it penetrate
My nerves
And ignite my blood
Every incidental
Or imagined touch
Is fire
Comforting
But wild

In dreams
We meet
You say little
Yet everything is imparted to me
And hands finally meet
Eyes never stray
Touches linger
Souls entwine

Only
When my mind is quiet
