Mercy Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Mercy

Dear Father In Heaven, last night I had a dream.
That somewhere, there is a woman crying
she's afraid to fall.
She's met a man sometime ago whom she knows
Was sent to provide protection from the storm
But insists on standing in the rain.
The water is rising
I fear that time is running short.
At first, I didn't think it true.
The ridicule of turning glee into something malicious.
In spite of acts done in the past, rather received or dealt.
Heal her aching heart
Before she inflicts more pain.
Her life has been hard, made to believe
She was a burden when she wasn't.
The nightmares of reliving every unwanted touch
Forced upon her
She's known pain of the utmost
I come to you Father
For we are not perfect in the least.
The weight of actions made in haste
This she knows with the gleam of every rainbow.
I saw her face clear as day sitting along side of the bed
distraught.
The thought of more storm clouds to weather.
Everyday she falls deeper, inflicting self harm.
Dear Father In Heaven, If only she could let go
I ask for you to be beside her and guide her on her journey
To happiness
