Mercy Poem by Terry Dunham

Mercy

Mercy

Mercy
wide like an open sky,
fill my vision.
Command my gaze to fix on you.
Draw my desire
like a lover.
Enthrall me to lust for you,
savagely.
To live without your touch,
or ever see the caring, thoughtful
blessing of your eyes toward me,
would be a curse which I could not abide.
Mercy.
To say your name
is invite under your umbrella.
Protection from certain damage.
Come and sit with me.
Let’s share life’s time.
Mercy,
stay forever.
