Mercenary Poem by Orlando De Los Santos

Mercenary

What happened to me and you?
I lost what I fought for
Like the Spanish Civil War
I go into exile

You were like the island
Innocent and pure
With Scots and Irish, representing him
And I the Roman, that came to be
But pulled back because
My fees were not free
But he, the new one
Is the Germanic, Anglo-Saxon
He, now, dwells with you
After me
Now, a ravaging war machine
Is you

I no longer fight for you
For I have moved on to a new campaign
A soldier at 1st
Loyal to you
Now, a mercenary
After you
Loyal to her, my boss, like the rap song
Being paid by her
Body, dressed in a bra and thong

Ashamed because I no longer fight

For our love to survive
Now, to be resurrected, to be revived
With money that
Supplies
This mercenary
