Memphis Dog Poem by Jena Crowe

Memphis Dog

Rating: 3.5

country likker is my shabang
charlie asked me to touch his wang- I said 'charlie
you don't move down there'
he stole my boots to hop a train
and I was sad without a drag,
I could have had
a pistol. I could have smoked
until the sun went down,

singing 'baby, I'm the engine
you are just the sound'
