Memories Of The Joys Of Summer Past And Present

The memories of the joys of summer past and present
The letters I wrote and the cards you sent
Lemonade made from real lemons and sugar and ice
The friends and relatives that visit and are very nice
Playing Frisbee or baseball and getting a hit
Having an ice cream soda in the shade on a nice chair to sit
Watching fireworks or exploring the stars on a nice clear night
Camping in the forest, lighting a fire and telling stories of fright
Eating smores or barbecuing hotdogs, brats and cheeseburgers
Getting close romantically with someone you find dear
Playing tennis or going for a bike ride
Going to a park, riding a swing or going down a slide
The Ice cream man ringing his bell and we all scream
Watching a fun movie with friends that is better than any dream
Seeing your favorite band in concert
And wearing your favorite concert t-shirt
Traveling to faraway places
Meeting new friends or bumping into old faces
Just having time off from school or work to sleep in
It's fun fun reading time again
Swimming in a pool or river or lake
Exploring nature and discovering a raccoon or snake
Flowers are smiling and berries taste great
Exercising is fun and you feel good losing weight
But it's hard to say no to ice cream and cake
Or a burger, fries and a shake
Driving around and seeing the sights
Or playing hide and seek late at night
Lightning bugs make me cheer
Have you ever seen a huge moth or a cute deer
What birds did you see when you went on a trip
Riding a water into a pool for a dip
Parades and carnivals and Ferris wheel rides
Cotton candy, caramel apples, Air conditioning inside
Listening to music and playing a game or two
Going to the farmer's market and watching someone perform who is cool
These are just a few of the many good things I remember
That happened to me summer after summer after summer
