Memories Poem by Omar Brr

Memories

Rating: 4.0

Each day i set off on a journey
Jumping from one cold dark memory to the next

With each jump
A glimpse of a smile sparks
And chains of solitude stare

With each jump
A fading young boy's cry
Heard all the way across Versailles

With each jump
Stray deceptive lies
Leaving bitter reality disguised

skipping jumps
Tired, Looking for salvation
Though these long-lasting memories
Relentless as the pouring rain
Remind me that miles of isolation
And painful environment
Better than these
Shackled hearts, narrow minds's companionship.

Menace, Left, Right
Eyes staring, ambiguous intentions
Feeling captivated, restrained
Yet, within me
Light continues to grow
Through society's chronic charm

Break the chain
I will

Rise above limitations
The goal

Walking as a nucleus
Holding string attached
The status.
