Memorable Moment Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Memorable Moment

Rating: 5.0

I wept over incidence
That in husband’s presence
His wife was raped and insulted
Without her wish being consulted

Racial discrimination is still tolerable
But this atrocity by own brethren is condemnable
If white commits, it can be taken as sheer nonsense
But blacks committing on blacks makes no sense

What has happened to us as civilized persons?
Why do we care and see the reasons?
Have we nothing to perform else for upliftment?
I think no civilized person would love to comment

Any cruel address to a person is mean medium
Why do not we become tolerant and keep mum?
“Nigger, you stupid” is no honorable word to hurl
How would you feel when same are used in turn?

It has become mentality to lower our own people
It not only degrades in public eye but invites trouble
You will never gain honor even if attain high position
The identity as such will be in crisis with big question!

I hope we have not forgotten old slavery days
When women and men were tied and confined in many ways
They were made to work like animals
The humans were turning cruel

Black is nice color to appreciate
It has many things to relate
Even almighty preferred and liked
Why at all such things should strike?

We must rise together
Worry about progress and healthcare
Many languish in poverty and undernourishment
Let us feel proud from heart and make it memorable moment
