Melting Crystals Poem by aeda sea

Melting Crystals

a glittering ring was given me
a clear transparent crystal set
in glass of every color to see

i gasped upon seeing the glorious sight
held it up to the silver light
of the sun whose rays were dancing bright
upon my ring of crystal might

my clear transparent cystal set
in glass of colors began to wet
my hand and I could not guess why
i gazed at my ring and began to cry
my glittering present was shrinking small
the sun's sweet warmth was melting it all
when the last of my treasure had melted away
in a puddle of rainbows and water it lay
i watched the pool seep into the earth
and wished
it would
come back.
