Though blackmailed, Lord Melbourne succeeded
as PM. Victoria needed
his advice though he whipped
orphan girls whom he stripped
and beat till for mercy they pleaded.

Inspired by the movie “Young Victoria, ” in which the part of Lord Melbourne, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom in 1834, and 1835–1841 is played by Paul Bettany. There are no hints in the movie concerning the scandalous aspects of his life, which included spanking sessions with aristocratic ladies and whippings administered to orphan girls taken into his household as objects of charity.
