It's A Man's Man's Man's Man's World

Rating: 3.0

It’s a man’s man’s man’s man’s world,
but it’s really nothing if you haven’t got
a woman or a girl by whom you’re whirled
around, around, around. There are a lot
of women, women, and a lot of girls
on whom our life depends if we are men,
for life does not begin till some girl whirls
us round and round and round, and round again.

Inspired by a song by James Brown, “It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s Man’s World”. James Brown died on December 25,2006. The AP writes:
James Brown, the dynamic, pompadoured ''Godfather of Soul, '' whose rasping vocals and revolutionary rhythms made him a founder of rap, funk and disco as well, died Monday. He was 73. Brown died of heart failure less than two days after he was hospitalized with pneumonia, said his agent, Frank Copsidas. Along with Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan and a handful of others, Brown was one of the major musical influences of the past 50 years. At least one generation idolized him, and sometimes openly copied him. His rapid-footed dancing inspired Mick Jagger and Michael Jackson among others. If Brown's claim to the invention of soul can be challenged by fans of Ray Charles and Sam Cooke, then his rights to the genres of rap, disco and funk are beyond question. He was to rhythm and dance music what Dylan was to lyrics: the unchallenged popular innovator.

It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s Man’s World

This is a man's world, this is a man's world
But it wouldn't be nothing, nothing without a woman or a girl

You see, man made the cars to take us over the road
Man made the trains to carry heavy loads
Man made electric light to take us out of the dark
Man made the boat for the water, like Noah made the ark

This is a man's, a man's, a man's world
But it wouldn't be nothing, nothing without a woman or a girl

Man thinks about a little baby girls and a baby boys
Man makes then happy 'cause man makes them toys
And after man has made everything, everything he can
You know that man makes money to buy from other man

This is a man's world
But it wouldn't be nothing, nothing without a woman or a girl

He's lost in the wilderness
He's lost in bitterness.

Think Mr Brown would have been proud to have read this, Gershy. A funky tribute to the late singer, in keeping with the funky, rhythmic style of the very music that he made so popular. Just sent the same message to your yahoo e-mail, Gershy. Oh, and tell Lind to read her e-mail too as I've just sent her a message as well. With warmth, Gina.
