Meant To Be Alone Poem by Draven Cestodio

Meant To Be Alone

I look you in the eye as I tell you how I feel
Standing, waiting, then the answer I was expecting comes
With a smile and words of understanding I say farewell
The smile fades, the same feelings I have felt so many time intrude
I push them down and lock them away, my face goes blank as I contemplate
Never seen as more than a friend
sitting, thinking, trying to understand
a thought and comprehension
Always meant to be alone
With these black wings I soar alone until the end of time
This monster that has been locked away to rot never to see another sunrise
Acceptance and serenity
Feelings locked away never to be revealed again
A blank face and a moving shell
That is all that remains
