Maybe Never Poem by Mary Angeli Joie Ostan

Maybe Never

I want to forget us,
Act like I never knew you.
But my heart will not
forget the extreme way
Lips can make love.

It won't let me forget
The way your eyes can say
A million things in
ten seconds flat.

It refuses to erase
The way your hands
Told me things about
My soul I never knew.

It reminds me everyday
Exactly how intense the
Flash of passion inside,
Set the whole damn
Universe on fire.

Maybe I could never forget,
Because every time I look up
At the sky every night,
It's still burning hot
With what we will never be.
