Marty Poem by Tamara Costa

My love for you was real

But you’re not here to stay

I didn’t deserve you ever

So I will be on my way..

I’m sorry for what I’ve done

I cannot change the past

We both hurt one another

This strength I have won't last

I didn’t mean to hurt you

You hurt me so much too

I know you didn’t see it that way

But it was definitely true

Our love was one of a kind

Filled with warmth, love & passion

You’re a beautiful man Marty

loaded with compassion

I love the way you looked at me

with that sexy beautiful smile

I will never see it again

I know it would be a while

I love the way you slept with me

Ten pillows you piled high

I would stare at you constantly

And think this is my guy

The damage has been done

And I can’t take it back

I’m not the girl for you

Clearly I’m off the beaten track

I don’t want to be friends

You said we cannot be lovers

What is left here for me

But nothing to discover

I am saying good bye

And I’ll be on my way

Just wanted you to know

I’ll love you all the same

The past is the past, the future is better. Your love is beautiful but I don't want to believe that you hurt bcos you were hurt, but in all I think there's genuiness in your heart and great lessons from your experience. Good one there

Love is a spiritual experience that affects all and sundry profoundly. It's whimsical and temperamental, coming unannounced and may leave without warning. Love needs careful nurturing by couples to maintain its bliss without which distress in the bliss of love rears it's ugly head. A well articulated poem, nicely penned from the heart. A lovely piece indeed. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
