Maria Poem by The Droplets

I saw this girl one night when I was walkin down the street
And I decided she was 1 I would really want 2 meet
But I didn’t have a chance cuz im so pitiful
And of course she’s so young n beautiful

I walked up to her n she said her name was Maria
I said well Maria it was really nice 2 meet ya
And I was wondering if you’d like to go out sum time
Ofcourse she said no n that was the end of our good time

I kept on walkin down that same street n I notice she started 2 follow me
Except she had sum1 else it was obviously her boyfriend n I think his name was Jimmy
I turned around n said wow jimmy ur really a lucky guy
He noticed I was looking @ Maria so he punched me in the eye

They kept on walkin the same way I had done
Except this time they weren’t havin as much fun
She said how would u like me 2 do that 2 u
He said I was tryin 2 get with her wich was pretty true

I got up n started walkin the street
I was tryin 2 see another girl 2 meet
But then I realized that id never meet another Maria
I turned fast enuff 2 c her say c-ya
