Mandrake (Free Verse Sonnet) Poem by Gert Strydom

Mandrake (Free Verse Sonnet)

While the golden moon falls through the window
I feel your hot breath against me,
in a dream parts of my life flashes pass
when in the distance a rifle shot resounds,
you are my edifying and my decay,
the one at whom I get passion and healing,
the one who gives me life and do cut me,
the only sincere one in the entire universe.
You are the poison deep in my blood,
that does chase me madly to you,
the one that do understand and know me,
that for all other love do indemnify,
the on for whom I dare all,
with whom I loose and win everything.
