Man, The Spoiler Poem by David Smart

Man, The Spoiler

Man, the spoiler, sets his hand
Against the sea, against the land.
Fills the air with noxious fume,
Crowds the earth till there's no room.

Tears the trees from beds of earth
Counts them as of little worth
Poisons wayside herbs and flowers
Replaces them with concrete towers.

Kills all creatures, great and small
Instead of loving each and all.
Brother beast and brother plant,
Giant redwood, tiny ant
All fit into God's great plan
Save Satan's minion, spoiler, man.
