Man's Best Friend Poem by Jaycee Wilkerson

Man's Best Friend

Max,
Mines from a pup
When i got him
He was the size of a cup
Only divided by species
But it was like he was the
Only one who understood me

I was never alone
Because we
Had each other
If he were human
Then he would have
Been my brother

Only if he could talk
Instead of a bark
It doesnt matter
Because we were still
Family in my heart

Sometimes
I still see him
And if its quiet
I can hear he bark

At times
I miss him
When I walk
And sad times
I need him
To lighten my load

Not having him
Has really taken its toll
Thats why (RIP) Max
Can never get old (1995 to 2004)
