Mama, I'M Home Poem by Jason Pack

Mama, I'M Home

Rating: 5.0

Mama, i'm coming home,
Your boy's alright.
My fears are gone,
I fought my fight.

I'll be back soon,
Not in a box.
By Sun or by Moon,
I watch the clocks.

The threshold is mine,
My foot in the door.
Mama, i'm fine,
I'm gone no more.

Mama, don't cry,
Mama, please smile.
I didn't die,
I'm just late awhile.

Mama, hug me,
Give me a kiss.
I served my country,
The truth is this.

War is hell,
It's not my place.
My friend fell,
Blood on his face.

I ran and ran,
As fast as I could.
I ran and ran,
Like you told me I should.

Mama, let me in,
I'm back home.
I've made my sin,
I won't be long.

I left my troop,
Just to see you.
Don't let your head droop,
Don't cloud your eyes blue.

Mama, i'm home,
But you don't want me.
Mama, i'm gone,
I thought you loved me.

Unexpected turn at the end... very sad, but I liked the poem.
