Loves Never Ending Plans Poem by Andrea Cebrecos

Loves Never Ending Plans

After her first heartbreak
She swore she would never fall in love again
And to never ever understand or look at another man
Love hurt way too much
And she could or would never take the pain
She knew her heart had already been put through enough strain

But since we’re all aware
That love always has a different plan
It somehow sneaked up behind her
Making her fall once again
“You see, this one is different”
She rehearsed to her friend’s everyday
“He told me he will never leave or push me away”

Her friend’s tried to warn her
Tried to make her understand
That the boy was only with her because he thought she was ‘easy’
That the boy wasn’t really a man
She didn’t believe them
She thought they were all lying
But in the end she ended up crying

“This time I’m serious, I won’t ever fall again
Men just aren’t worth it and I’m afraid my heart will never mend”
Her friends sat quietly around her
Then one of them spoke up
“That’s something foolish to declare
Because you know loves plans never have an end”
