Love Paves The Access To Pain
I have loved but only once
it left me more or less a dunce
I tried poetry I tried rhyme
too romantic to see a waste of time
yet therein lies my souls brother
our love would have been unlike any other
but the mind taints in terror
every mystery with error
giving the heart no chance to reign
love paves the access to pain
But this pulsing flesh will falsely claim paradise
Believe the mind for it be the one with eyes
It will not mistake Heaven when it may be Hell
it alone can discern the beast from the belle
