Love No More Poem by Paulina Martin

Love No More

We have heard of stories with hurt and pain
Stories of emotions, no words can explain
A young hero goes into love, gets lost in it
A heartbreaking failure, too afriad to admit

A cliche scene: drinking alcohol in the corner
Slurring your sob story to a total stranger
A total mess. knocked out and drunk
Try to get home, dignity lowered and ego shrunk

But why waste time, in love that is gone?
Why second guess, when the card has been drawn?
Expecting a miracle with twinkling eyes
Dear idiot, here's a good advice:

Can you catch a feather that has been blown by the wind?
Can you do exactly the same thing in the same place you've been?
Can you take back a word once it has been said?
Can you pluck our an idea once its inside your head?

No, you cannot! That's the point!

Haha… another love lost for a poet of love! Nicely written! Can love that’s lost be found? For when love was gone, what used to be right becomes wrong… And love thoughts turns into anger and regret… that’s the usual thing that’s happening. The message of this poem is indeed meaningful, though it’s sad to say, this is such a painful reality.
