Love Is Pain Poem by Sean Irvine

Love Is Pain

Physically we are torn apart…but my love will still remain.
Brightening up the sky above…in times when love is pain.
The strength of her heart, her selfless ways…keep my spirit high.
Throughout these cold and lonely days…of her love I dream at night.
It eases my mind…keeps fear out of sight.
Despite the fact that I am secure…in darkness and confusion.
You bring a sense of hope to me…through all of this confusion.
Still I can feel her presence…from the walls I am confined.
Memories we shared together...pave the future in my mind.
I wish to hold her in my arms…and heal my hearts desire.
The only thing preventing me…is fence and razor wire.
I guess for now all I can do is count the days left that still remain.
Stand my ground and persevere…through times when love is pain.
