Love Is Not Poem by Paul Reed

Love Is Not

Love does not excite

Or leave someone amused

No - that is something else

And this is where you get confused;

Love is not quick or instant

It is gradual and enduring

It does not turn to left or right

Nor have charms alluring;

Love is not pleasure

Love is not a cuddly toy

Love is not a walk in the park

Nor a secret ploy;

Love is not a lot of things

That people think it is

Love is indefinable

Not the answer to a quiz;

So when it does come along

You don't know that it's here

It just wraps it's arms around you

And takes away your fear.
