Love Poem by Marlo Jenkins

Love

Rating: 5.0

Love, does anyone really understand that word? I think people get love mixed up with hate, but what if hate was really not a mistake and it's the only way that they can relate, coming from a place where justice was unjust dreams turned into dust, education…education was never heard of; it was sex, drugs, lies, crime, now you tell me how can love come from such a place, HOLD ON wait! BUT then you judge by the color of my skin or by the car that I drive because it looks nothing like a Benz, the size of my weight, but at that moment right at that moment you made a big mistake because God said don't judge a character by his race but instead replace love with hate, WAIT! you looked inside my den and saw that it was filled with rats, roaches, ants, and holes but when you walked out that front door your words spoke of love oh yeah I heard those words, but did you know that it was only a fake because without your embrace it only made me hate, but it was faith and grace yes His grace which reminded me to never go back to that place; INSTEAD I CHOSE LOVE OVER HATE!
