Lost Thoughts Poem by Liz Eckel

Lost Thoughts

Today while I was going to church
I had been brainstorming ideas
Ideas for an incredible poem.
But I hadn't a paper or pencil to write with.

I was lost in thought,
should have brought a pen.

I remember hearing sirens
Of the ambulance passing by.
I believe I made a short poem of that,
hoping that everyone was okay.

I was lost in thought,
should have brought a pen.

I also recall thinking of my friend,
She is very nice,
never did she say anything insulting to me
about the boy I liked.
While so many others had,
They talked behind my back
or even in front of my face.

I was lost in thought,
should have brought a pen.

So many secrets and memories
I had forgotten,
Maybe next time I'll think
Before I go somewhere.

I was deep in thought,
Why didn't I bring a pen?
