Looking Out Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Looking Out

Looking out

Silver dawn is on the run
To let the morning come
With golden, bright sun.

The birds came too early
And sat on the tree,
Sang and danced spree.

Best to do when inside
To me is to watch pines
In front, right outside,
Thickly leafed, very tall.

I saw birds, blinking,
Jump around for singing,
Raising head for thanking
The heavens and their God.

Wonder if was jealous
Or envied, inspired
By them, their liberty,
Hopping around freely.

Moved my lips to ask them:
"Do you know of Virus? "

United, they flew,
Go away, like cloud:
"Keep distance, obey law! "

Very sad, broken
To sofa I returned…

Wished to be like a bird,
Or gone dead, in grave…

Take some books in Farsi,
Then change to English,
Find them all to be pain:
"Awareness is headache,
Ignorance is bliss…"
