Look Around. Not Down. But Up! Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Look Around. Not Down. But Up!

Hold onto your sanity.
And let go of all vanity.
Observe how being vain.
Can and will,
Leave one's brain strained.

Look around and see,
What ego leaves.
Hallucinations.
Look around and see,
What ego leaves.
A loose caboose.
Wild accusations made.
Confused delusions.
And self importance that is publicly boosted.
So entertaining they become those who rule.

Look around.
See for yourself.
Those with egos,
Have left the World in a mess.
Yet entertaining they become those who rule.
To dupe the people they have made into fools.
Controlling every move and what people do.

Look around.
See for yourself.
What an ego does like no one else.
Hallucinations.
A loose caboose.
Accusations made too wild to refuse.
To dupe the people they have made into fools.

Hold onto to your sanity.
Let go of all vanity.
And look around.
See for yourself.
Who promotes a craze like no one else.
And allowed to turn the World into a mess.

Look around.
Not down.
But up.

Look around.
Not down.
But up!
