Lonely Eyes Poem by Hope Wallin

Lonely Eyes

You catch me in your lonely eyes,
A feeling in me starts to rise.
I cannot speak, for I am trapped,
And caught up in your lonely eyes.
A peripheral peek as we sit in class,
A folded note for which to pass.
My joyus laugh seems not to end,
I forever peek when we're in class.
My daytime dream to kiss your lips,
Far from my reaching fingertips.
You're far to good to grant my dream,
My daytime dream to kiss your lips.
You couldn't love me anyway,
No matter what my friend might say.
The tenor of your words assures,
You couldn't love me anyway.
