Locked Out Poem by Carolyn Sears

Locked Out

Today was so beautiful

The sun Shining

Springtime it seemed, couldn’t
Wait

To get out that door..

Didn’t see a car on my street

Looked as if my street was deserted

Just me and my cat..

A light breeze just mildly
Blew.

My chimes was ringing, ringing
Off the hook

I was anxious to make my way
Out the door

I grabbed my phone and hurriedly
Went out the door

I started to get into my truck when

I notice I didn’t have any keys

So I looked down at my hands

Guess What?

Locked out from my house my
Truck

I just sit back on my door step

And

I hung my head down

Into my hands my head went

In a daze

Wondering what was I thinking

Locked out of my house and my

Truck included

I sit there just wondering what

Was my option..

My street deserted

Just me and my cat

My cat walked up to me

Place his self into my slap

He looked into my eyes

With great concern

As to say

“If it was humanly possible I

Would let you in”

Than he jumped from my slap

And just went elsewhere

I was stuck out the door

Looking kinda silly

Until I could get a bit of
Help...
