Living Lives Of Difference Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Living Lives Of Difference

Lying back thinking of you and I back in the day, both of
us filled with love and promise as we shared, danced, talk-
ed for hours into the night.

Our friendship billowing into a wholesome, unconditional
love that's so beautiful and promising, giving us hope in
a future life together.

Through the years, always talking and sharing our lives
with one another like there was no tomorrow, then one day
we went our separate ways living lives of difference.

It was neither of our faults, sometimes things just happen
that way, all these years our friendship continued growing
and now in our senior years it's blossoming.

An intense form of love that we never realized has brought
us closer than ever before, missing you so totally, needing
to be with you again, sharing everything with each other.

Wondering if we'll ever be together like in days gone by,
heart feeling empty, missing you and what we had shared
back then.
