Live Poem by Paul Reed

Live

Gather here, you non-believers
Gather around here and listen
Come, both throwers and retrievers
And watch the white snow glisten

Now that I have your attention
Now that I have your ears
Here's something for your retention
A tune for one that hears

Live your life, I say to thee
Stop not for dwell or care
Live it quickly, live it free
Live it as much as you dare

For those who ponder, those who wait
Are soon lost in life's clutches
Those who wonder or hesitate
Those who miss life's touches

Are destined to be a hollow being
In a kind of sprawling pain
Never feeling and never seeing
The chance to live again.
