Little Black Fish Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Little Black Fish

Little Black Fish

Religious day of week
-Friday

Ran to me:
-here is a Masjed!

Was happy
Changed clothes
-removing one of work's
-wore the best that he found

Went and washed
-for Vodhu
-the washing of Muslims
-to pray

Angels' Joy, innocence
-glow of Christmas

Everything in its best
-around me felt heaven
-he dashed off

Soon came back
-on his face a smile
-of failure
-of wonder
-strange encounter

I could guess
-had meant to inform him…
-but did not!

-I noticed their Adhan
He said and

That I meant to warn of
-why should I?
Came to mind…
I am sure against the
-sitting in small room…

My best is
-Imagine
By Lennon…

We must learn of people
-right or not, different…
-we must learn…
-live and love all of them.

He is a Sunni and…
-the mosque is of Shiites
-a branch
-of many

-Hell, hell, hell
Boiled in me!
-to the faiths' branches
-all are good yet are bad
Said my heart and my brain

-born and raised in their dens
They know, act, as we read
-in 'Little Black Fish'! ! !
