Little bird, is today the day?
Dear One,
Please do hear my plea,
Oh please, give me one more chance,
Just one more time to see him,
Just one more moment to touch him,
Just one more second to hear his voice,
Only to say farewell.

But today is the day,
Is too late,
Not for me but for him,
For I can’t command the time to fly back,
For all hopes have gone,
Together travel with him,
Into the unknown tunnel.

Alone and afraid?
Or calm and happy?
This I will never know,
All I know,
Today is the day of the last good bye.
