Little Aedan Poem by Karla Bell

Little Aedan

How can we say goodbye
How can we carry on
How can we let go
When you were taken far too young

We can smell your hair,
Feel your little hands
See your eyes looking at us so lovingly
Your heart loving unconditionally

We shall only say goodnight, sleep tight
We will blow a kiss each day
We will wish upon the winds
We will memorise your life

Your laughter is as bright as a spring morning
Your chattering warming up the day
Your brother and sister a piece of you
You live on with us and us with you

Your dinosaur roars
And the flowers dance along our path
And the stars twinkle oh so brightly
Our beautiful little man

We will catch you on a rainbow
We will watch fishing on a lake
You will ride your bike along side us
You're every breathe we take

Sweet child with your eyes so wise
Your perfect little face
Mummy and daddy's cherub
Your life filled a massive space

Carry you smile where you sleep
Wish upon a star
Darling little baby boy
We love you from afar
