Like Teardrops For Chocolate Poem by Ruby Honeytip

Like Teardrops For Chocolate

Rating: 5.0

You know those salty choc muffins,
I gave to you to try?
They were sprinkled with my teardrops,
Because making them for you made me cry.
I was stirring with a wooden spoon,
When I imagined that what I was holding,
What my hands were making with such care and love,
Through your body they would be folding.
With every mouthful you would consume my love,
And spread it through your heart,
You would realize suddenly, I was the one,
And we would never part.
Reality returned and the first tears fell,
Then they didn't stop!
My happy daydream turned to grief,
Hence your snack is laced with teardrops.
I told you of my feelings
You laughed and thought I was bluffin'
Maybe I'll just have to be content,
To feed you my love through my muffins.

I hope you're hungry.

Hmm they say when food is made with love it makes it taste better...guess that means it tastes saltier ;) this is on my favourites list of yours. such a tender expression of love for someone, making them something with your own hands. i love the ending: I hope you're hungry Delcious poem.
