Like Me Poem by Roxy Owens

Like Me

I should've said no.
I should've known.
We never would've worked.
We were just meant to say goodbye.
It was two steps forward.
And three steps back.
I was never meant for do or die.
And I want you to know.
I loved you with the fire red.
Do you say the same things to her?
Does she buy your sick stories.
Are you a match made in heaven?
I hope that ring turns her finger green.
And your kids are just like me.
Look and act like me.
I'll always be there in your memory.
Reminding you I was the best you had.
I'm not breaking anymore.
I should've said no.
I should've stayed home.
