Lighting The Lamp Poem by Rimni chakravarty

Lighting The Lamp

The earth revolves around the sun
Time rolls on
Days pass, so do the nights
The waves dashes each other with high and low tides
The climatic change indicates the arrival of the seasons
And each of them brings with it the celebration of different festival
Of course they have their own reasons

The festival of light awaits on the threshold of the no moon night
The outside is engulfed in total darkness
While the inside is engulfed with ignorance
The lamps are lighted in hundreds to beautify the walls of our homes
While our hearts and minds leaps up with hopes
The hope to conquer the evils hidden within us
And the hope to illumine ourselves with a divine touch

We smile and our eyes sparkle with a light
This light spreads the atmosphere
Confidence boost us to know not of fear
We celebrate our Diwali night
Happy Diwali to all of you
May your dreams come true.
