Light Poem by Ryan Lee Morris

Light

Rating: 3.0

I live in the darkness,
Surrounded by light.
Internally broken.
I live without sight.
I've muted my spirit,
I've turned up my mind.
I'm chained to my fears.
No hope do I find.
Residing in hell,
A hell I did create,
I was looking for love,
But living in hate
The angels decends,
The demons defend,
The battles begun,
But soon it will end.
The demons destroy,
The angels they kill,
The enemy so strong,
They're armed with my will.
I look up to the light,
Tears roll down my face.
I want to escape,
This cold evil place.
I throw down my weapon,
Light enters my soul.
To defeat the demons,
I must own my role.
My thoughts are my bullets,
My actions, my gun
The side that I arm,
Is the side that has won.
I lived in the darkness,
I slept through the light.
Drained in the day,
Recharged by the night.
I lived in self will,
and not self control,
The light I removed,
Is what blackened my soul.
To live in the light
Is what this battle's about.
If I don't look within,
I will live without.
