Light Poem by Pete Rivera

Light

Tiny little dot
Inside my natural vision
Can you be removed
With a mental incision
No, it's not that simple
Now you are gone away
From twilight to dawn
From night to day
Colors of the rainbow
Fill my mind's eye
Purple, yellow, blue and red
The myths I will deny
We are the children of God
Roaming freely on the earth
Till the Saviour come again
And give to us new birth
On this Spring morn
I call intent for solution
To a problem unanswered years on
For every chance at resolution
Now my friend of long
Bring me away from here
Take me beyond the clouds
Where silent air turns into tears
This final stanza
Of Heaven's golden pen
By holy dove that purges light
The letter shall be sent
Till it reaches the mailbox
Of the correct address
To silent deity whom I trust
My sins, I will confess
