Life With You Poem by Katinka Havermans

Life With You

Rating: 5.0

The grass is green
The sky is blue
You love me
And I... feel cramped

The birds are singing
The sun shines
You look at me
And I... look away

Roses are red
violets are blue
You ask what's wrong
And I... I feel like I'm missing something

You have butterflies in your stomach
I see bears on the road
You need guidance
And I... feel lost

You ask
We deliver
You need a helping hand
And I... I must provide that.

But sometimes, just sometimes, there are days
Like today
I doubt whether I can
Provide that hand
Then there are days when I sigh
And sigh even more
Repeatedly until it's all right again

Then I straighten my back yet again
And say to myself:
Come on let's go for it
Because living with a man with autism
Is sometimes so very hard!
