Life Street Poem by Briana Johnson

Life Street

So eighteen soon comes knocking
I'm already by the door
Waiting for my glory, my passage into the world
Yes I know it'll be hard
But I can't live behind a door all my life
Unexposed to humanity
Mom, Dad, Parents
The day neighbors the road called life
And one day I'll have to ride
So tonight before you say no
Remember at eighteen either way
I'll have to go down that street
And holding my ambitions back now
For the sake of your insecurity won't help me
Please mom think
And dad ponder
For one day I will leave...
And drive down life's street
