Life From Before Poem by Marilyn Lott

Life From Before

Rating: 5.0

Just drifting by were these folks
Horse saddled and ready to go
Adorable little colt was ready too
On a rope led behind in tow

Packing those cigarette papers
Just like it was done way back when
Delicious blue lake ripe for fishing
Added nicely to the historic blend

Joe got the beauties all ready
‘Cause they were his special friends
Everything was really so magical
Following along with welcome old trends

Ah yes, it was like in the olden days
When ya couldn’t just go to the store
You had to raise your own food
Tracing back to a life from before!

Sounds like a dude ranch ride to jog memories back to when it was for real. Then eggs were still warm from being under chickens, not chilled in the cold refer section of the store. Even for people who haven't experienced the olden days, you show 'em what it was like - -recreating the smell and sights. Tom
