Life Could Be Easy Poem by David Harris

Life Could Be Easy

Rating: 5.0

I never imagined life could be easy
I’ve only seen the worst of it all.
The starving millions barely living
in war and famined lands.
The deprivation of our young
with gods of evil garnishing their walls.
The daily slaughter rammed down our throats
from a one eyed monster in our homes.
Who said life could be easy
when the worst is all we see.
Our world of blue and green
daily shrinking before our eyes
and the creatures living within
disappearing at an alarming rate.
Who said life could be easy
when all you’re surrounded by hate.
Hate against a different colour skin,
hate against a different religion,
hate against everyone and everything.
Who said life could be easy
must be looking through blind eyes.
