Life Poem by Aaron Waingrow

Life

I was hanging out talking on chat one day
When a pretty young lady came by my way
So I said hey there lovely, what do you know?
She said hi there, be right back, sorry got to go
This went on for around a month or two
Until one day when I was hurting, feeling blue
Not sure how but my heart opened wide
Since that day she has never left my side
Looking in her blue eyes I see my life
A short time later I ask her to be my wife
YES, YES, I do, I do's, then she marries me
One year later, and our baby girl makes three
A stay at home dad, I cook and clean the house
Why would I not with such a perfect spouse
Our kids grow up; move out, but close to home
Here on the holidays despite how far they roam
So many memories filled with such happy tears
We still love like teenagers after all these years
At just over one nineteen and a hundred flat
So many look and say I want a Love like that
Away in our sleep still wrapped in my arms hold
Our love story will forever more will be told
Never could we imagine such a heavenly sight
Together for eternity as we drift into the light
