Said you love me
But it isn’t how I felt
Your controlling ways isn’t right for me
But you insist it’s the only way

Said you care for me
you question my every move
Said you gave me all you’ve got
But your treasure isn’t mine

I wanted to fly high
I wanted to tasted life
I wanted to test the water
I wanted to face the unknown

Comfort and security I can do without
Freedom and independence I must have
If you want to see me truly smile
Don’t try to fence me in your world

Open your heart and let love roam
Don’t put a lock on it and watch it die
Because a selfish love goes to the grave
A true love shines in the eternal light
